Information in English!

To all of you who don't read Swedish too well and have wondered why I keep posting blog-entries with pictures of a strange REALLY old house; I bought this house in November last year. It was built sometime around 1860-1870, it has a timber frame (at least I guess that's what you call it...) and is very well preserved. Not much has been done to it since the beginning of the 1900's, except for the kitchen and the room next to the kitchen. There is lots of old wallpaper in relatively good shape in three rooms, one ceiling with decorative paintings, all the inner doors are painted imitating wood. There are two tiled stoves still in place, in very good shape! There is a huge cast iron stove in the kitchen as well as a wood fired baking oven, both which need lots of work to get in working order. The chimneys are in a sad state and need lots of work. Some of the floors are ruined from plastic carpets put in sometime in the 1970's. There is no electricity, water or any kind of toilet in the house, or outside... in short, it needs a lot of work, but like the realtor wrote in the ad; It has potential! I feel at home there even though it is very different from Gotland and Fårö. It's quiet, the forest is just outside, and the neighbors are so sweet.
I have also discovered that it is really hard to find translations to a lot of expressions regarding restoration work, so, any posts in English will be very basic!

Linoleum floor, sunlight in the blue room, painted ceiling and lovely colours...and sunligt in the kitchen.
